this is sunday morning, date:07-03-2010.

you know by this time i should have completed my finance preparation for test but i didn't. also i should have finished my business appraisal synopsis but again i didn't.
also i should have been happy but i am not, needless to say why..........

bcoz India - bharat - hindustan lost to England - Inglistan- vilayat -gr8 britain in the Hockey World Cup'10.

no problem with defeat as the better one won the match but the way our boys played was pathetic, horrifying and disgusting. does it really matters to any "mango indians", our so called AAm bhartiya??? i suspect no!

i am really terrified with the way every player played as if they are low on morale, playing of alien land with no knowledge of dribbling, tackling and even no skills to trap the ball cleanly even for once.

and the most disheartening moment arrived this morning when i read the coverage on TOI, there ware praises for the brave heart show put up by the boys against England. ohh come on, any person who knows little of hockey could have easily pointed out the fowl play by the players and the irresponsible show put up by them.

i will go one by one:

defenders:

Mahadik?? "DIK" in "Awadhi" language means ill and the MAHA-"DIK" means seriously ill, and this guy truly lived up to his name. he couldnot even trapped a single ball cleanly and was hapless, helpless in his own half and certainly not clever enough the pass on the ball.

Rajpal: captain is no doubt the best player we have right now but his fitness and the frequency of time outs put a big question mark over this big beard clad face.

prabhjot: what this guy is doing is beyond my senses, is he a forward, play maker or what???? a serious flaw in the strategy.

there are few more in the thrash list but i would not waste much energy and time over them.

one a positive side, Shivindra, sardara, chandi, hallappa and d'souza are the men who should be credited with heart out play. they were present in every corner wherever the ball was.

India don't need extra-ordinary talent in this game but what it needs is the passion and the devotion for the game. we need somebody who is willing to run for 70 mints and after that saying that the game should be played again.

one point of difference is making all the gaps between India and other teams is the fitness and endurance level.

lets hope that some day, we can see our players overtaking europeans in the ball race and "sound the board" & make us cheer for the national game.............

till that time, give Bharat Ratna to sachin for his another century and keep ready many more for his other centuries.

signing off.

bye

power gone : Jyoti babu

Saturday. time: 7:30 pm venue: a very old architecture with red bricks and wooden chairs along with Teak-tables, a waiter in posh-white outfit reminding me of British era, this place is "Coffee House" in the Civil lines area of Allahabad city. . Over the corner table on my left there were two oldies sitting, not just sitting though, but sipping there coffee. complete silence, a pin-drop per say. only the crumble sound of news-paper, if at all turned. both oldies very so carried away with that news-paper article that they forgot the world around them. sudden electricity fails, one of the two said, Jyoti Babu chole geche !!!! and there was big laugh all around,,,,, i was perplexed what electricity has to do with Jyoti babu?? i asked the gentleman what he meant by that? he offered me a chair and ordered a cup of coffee for me as well. he told me that both are Bengolis and they were part of Communist movement in the late sixties and late seventies whi...

Have they gone..............or are they coming????

its not about how you die but its all about how you lived....." these words literally fascinate me & make me think of how m i living and what is the best way to depart from this world......... is it the way, a common man dies, across the streets , in public hospitals , on railway tracks , or by a mob in communal riots or by goons who kill in the name of regionalism....... the Martyrs who sacrifice their lives for the nation are the one who should be remembered with respect and regards. but is this the scenario in India? certainly not!!! example (). one army men who lost his both limbs serving the nation in the front was sanctioned a pity 1000 rupees a month as pension. finally in 2010, chief justice of India had to direct officials to serve the person in dignified manner & catagorically said,"don't treat heroes, like beggers". certainly the day these heroes stop rendering their services to the nation, God knows who will save the borders (neta j...
